30 November 2023 (Thursday) - Stago Newsletter

The nice people at Stago sent their update today. You can read it by clicking here.
Quite a useful thing to have – whilst the corporate stuff about their latest analysers was only of passing interest to me (realistically I am never going to use them) the stuff about QC and INR was rather good.

I’ll be honest – don’t bother. The company’s push to being carbon neutral and its Societal Commitments and compliance with the UK Modern Slavery Act (2015) is all very necessary… but *not* in any way relevant to me improving what I do on a daily basis.

I’m off sick with COVID right now, and this is making my bad mood worse. There’s reflection for you…

10 September 2023 (Tuesday) - Stago Newsletter

The nice people at Stago sent their monthly update today. You can see it by clicking here.

This month they are announcing the launch of their latest analyser. It looks good from all the blurb, but it would, wouldn’t it?

I used to use Stago devices back in the day. I was always struck by how long they took to get themselves ready to analyse; oh, so slow. I wonder if the new machine is any faster?

9 August 2023 (Wednesday) - Stago Newsletter

The monthly update from Diagnostica Stago appeared in my in-box today. You can see it by clicking here.
Sadly it focused on trying to sell me stuff… On the one hand I really need to be aware of what analysers are on the market; on the other hand… do I really? I need to know the limitations of the analysers I use and what to do with the numbers the generate.

Interestingly there was an article on the medical laboratory scientists Facebook group today asking for advice on best coagulometers. Twenty years ago Stago was everyone’s choice… from what I saw today, not any more.

The Stago newsletter appeared in my in-box today. You can read it by clicking here.
The nice people at Stago have launched new coagulometers; sthemO and sthemE.
There’s a YouTube video about the machines here, but I’d suggest it is aimed at people who thrive on management buzz-words rather than people who are interested in technical matters.

But I shall try to find out more about these machines…

31 October 2022 (Monday) - Diagnostica Stago Newsletter

The newsletter from Diagnostica Stago arrived in my in-box this morning. Like many corporate newsletters there is arguably too much of a focus on their latest blood testing device (for my liking), but it is a free newsletter, and selling their blood testing devices allow them to provide me with a free newsletter.

I’ve often mentioned that haemostasis-related CPD is difficult to come by, and this is very useful.

Thrombin generation, platelet function… the Stago newsletter appeared in my in-box (actually in the junk mail) today.
