On Sunday
I got the thumbs-down on a BTLP-TACT exercise. I asked for clarification… I got
a reply which really didn’t clarify anything. The antigenicity of the screen
with regard to Lu(a) isn’t given as this “is not required per the BSH
guidelines for compatibility testing”.
I
specifically asked “does a negative enzyme panel rules out anti-Lu(a)?” This
question wasn’t answered. But bearing in mind in the exercise I felt anti-Lu(a)
couldn’t be excluded, and I got it wrong for saying “Additional antibodies
noted which were not present”, so I shall assume that in the simulator anti
Lu(a) works by enzyme.
As opposed
to reality… Mind you the anti-M in the last exercise could have been a lot
closer to the real world…
In the past
I’ve described the BTLP-TACT simulator as a work in progress. Sadly it doesn’t
seem to be progressing very much.
It could
have been such a boon.
