RBC Transfusions Reduce Fatigability in Hospitalized Patients with Anemia

order to determine if red blood cell (RBC) transfusions improve quality
of life for hospitalized patients with anemia, researchers from The
University of Chicago interviewed 350 hospitalized general medicine
patients with anemia for self-reported measures of physical function,
fatigue, and fatigability two times —when hemoglobin levels dropped
below 10 g/dL during hospitalization and 7 days post-discharge. [Read More] |

of late July 2020, only 3% of recorded deaths due to COVID-19 have
occurred in Africa despite being home to 17% of the world’s population.
In order to gain a better understanding of the spread of the virus in
Kenya, researchers screened 3,098 blood donations between April 30 and
