Following on from Tuesday’s debacle I thought I’d
better try another BTLP-TACT exercise…
I was again presented with two cases:
89711 – a seventy-eight year old
female in A&E requiring group & save
Her blood group was utterly indeterminate – cell group
A, reverse group O, and the Rh(D) control was positive too
I would refer such a case to NHSBT
Fortunately for my sanity the antibody screen was
negative
19260 – a twenty-five year old
female in the gynae clinic also requiring group and save
She grouped as O Rh(D) Negative with negative
antibody screen..
I was *so*
relieved to get the green light…
