Following on from the G6PD deficiency case
study a couple of days ago, here’s a case of someone with G6PD deficiency
who has malaria. The treatment has sparked off a haemolytic episode.
I found this particularly relevant as I know
all of this *in theory* but I think I’ve
only ever seen two cases of G6PD deficiency in reality, and living in South
East England, neither had malaria.
I like this Facebook Haematology Interest Group
– you get input from people who’ve actually seen these obscure cases.
