“Pathology Outlines dot com” sent their
monthly update today. I can’t pretend that this website is the most amazing relevant
thing for my CPD; realistically I might describe it as “of peripheral interest”. But it is still of interest; still useful
material.
Updates
Charitable giving
Twice a year, PathologyOutlines.com donates 10% of our Amazon
commission to a non-profit. For the first half of 2018, we contributed $411
to the International
Medical Corps, a nonprofit that provides
emergency relief to those struck by disaster, no matter what the
conditions, working with them to recover, rebuild and gain the skills and
tools required for self-reliance.
Editor-in-Chief
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Debra L.
Zynger, M.D. as
our Editor-in-Chief. In this role, she will review all topics written and
set standards for Authors so our website becomes even more useful to
practicing pathologists. She previously served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
Dr. Zynger currently is Associate Professor and
Director of Genitourinary Pathology at The Ohio State
University Wexner Medical Center.
Fellowship Page
Molecular Methods Chapter
After some back and forth, we have decided that the Stains
& Molecular Markerschapter will contain
biomarker information, whether proteins or molecular. The Molecular
methods chapter will have information on
molecular methods and cytogenetics.
Recommended Books
Our Books page
now has a link for books recommended by our Editorial Board in most
subspecialties, including: adrenal, breast, derm, GI, GU, Gyn, head and
neck,hematopathology, IHC, renal, soft tissue
and bone, thyroid
Record Jobs
On August 3, we hit a
record 353 ads posted on our Jobs page.
We attribute this popularity to the high traffic the page receives (44,370
visits in July 2018 alone), our great customer service and our fast posting
of ads – we do it within 1 business day of receiving your email. Pathology
groups love using our website to advertise, as indicated by theirtestimonials and
by their repeat postings year after year. To post your ad, email the text
(Word format, up to 300 words), your logo (optional) and your contact
information to PathOutAds@gmail.com.
Superpages
Each chapter, in the middle of the Table of Contents, has an
option for three Superpages - text, images and virtual slides. The
Superpages display the entire Chapter contents in one long page, indexed by
topic, in alphabetical order.
We have now added an enhancement to the Images Superpage so
you can select which types of images to appear, such as Gross images or
Micro images.
Note: you cannot link to the Superpage. It only works if
accessed from the Table of Contents. This was done to prevent copyright
violations.
Website Statistics

July 2018 are up 27.7% from 4,779,128 in 2017 to 6,101,024 in 2018, and
page views are up 24.2% from 11,777,371 in 2017 to 14,627,580 in
