Here’s
an interesting discussion on the Facebook “Hematology Interest Group” page. I always thought that an ISI was a
figure calculated for each batch of reagent on each specific analyser. I can
remember being told (by those who should
know better) that a generic ISI from a manufacturer was acceptable.
The
discussion rather bears out my line of thought… those who advocate a generic
ISI don’t seem to have good analyser-to-analyser correlation with their INR…
