Time
for another BTLP-TACT exercise…
I
was presented with two cases from the out-patients department.
51855 – a sixty-one year-old chap with iron deficiency anaemia (and previous transfusions) requiring group & save.He grouped as B Rh(D) Positive with a negative antibody screen
34060
– a thirty-four year-old chap requiring two units of irradiated blood within
two hours.
He
grouped as A Rh(D) Negative also with a negative antibody screen
I
selected two A Rh(D) Negative K-negative irradiated units
I got the green light, which is always something of a relief.
