23 October 2022 (Sunday) - BTLP-TACT Exercise

I did a BTLP-TACT case only four days ago, but the boss sent me an email telling me to get on and do more, so here we are again. To be honest I’m glad that he does prompt me; it is so easy to forget… 

I had one case – a fifty-three year old woman from urology out patients requiring group & save.
She grouped as O Rh(D) Positive with a negative antibody screen

I got it right…

 

21 October 2022 (Friday) Aleukaemic Leukaemia

Here’s something from the nice people at Lablogatory that made me sit up and take notice. A case study of a chap in his seventies with a very sudden onset of neutropenia. This turned out to be a case of acute myeloid leukaemia. The general perception is that acute leukaemia is synonymous with a while cell count in the hundreds… this is not always the case.

I myself saw a very similar case only last week…
