11 May 2021 (Tuesday) - BTLP-TACT Excercise

Time for another BTLP-TACT exercise.
I was presented with one case – a nineteen year old female requiring twenty-eight weeks blood group antibody screening.

She grouped as AB Rh(D) Positive with antibody screen positive in all three cells so I requested antibody panels.
The IAT panel was positive in cells 1, 3, 5, 6, 9 and 10 which looks like anti-E and anti Fy(a) but could not exclude anti-Cw

The enzyme panel was positive in cells 3 and 5 which corresponded with the anti-E

The problem here is the anti-Cw. I would expect it in the enzyme panel… it wasn’t there. Have I excluded it… No.

I got the green light…
