12 July 2019 (Friday) - ASH Update

The American Society of Hematology sent their update today. I find this a useful update – there’s a lot of clinical and scientific information, and also it makes me think when I read about the differences in healthcare on opposite sides of the Atlantic. Here in the UK the NHS provides healthcare free to patients. Over there it costs, and twenty per cent of the customers there (I hesitate to say “patients”) get unexpected charges on top of the small fortunes that they are billed.
But I was surprised to see how (at times of shortage) blood donors are rounded up by Facebook.
Surely this could be done here in the UK?... But who would pay for it?
