Following on from the G6PD deficiency case study a couple of days ago, here’s a case of someone with G6PD deficiency who has malaria. The treatment has sparked off a haemolytic episode.
I found this particularly relevant as I know all of this *in theory* but I think I’ve only ever seen two cases of G6PD deficiency in reality, and living in South East England, neither had malaria.
I like this Facebook Haematology Interest Group – you get input from people who’ve actually seen these obscure cases.
