Engaging with Government at the House of Lords

UKAS and BSI hosted another successful reception for public contacts at the House of Lords on Monday 25 June 2018. Over 120 officials from a broad range of departments were present to hear from guest speaker, Baroness Neville-Rolfe.

Insurer publishes report into value of standards and accreditation

AIRMIC has published a white paper on the value that standards and accredited conformity assessment can play in the management of risk which states that there is plenty of evidence that organisations perform better when they adopt voluntary quality standards.

Electronic Certificates of Accreditation

Following consultation with stakeholders, UKAS plans to stop providing hard copy certificates of accreditation and provide electronic certificates of accreditation to all customers.

UKAS reaches landmark 60th accreditation for IQIPS

In April 2018, UKAS granted accreditation to the 60th organisation for the IQIPS programme. The Outside Clinic was granted accreditation for its adult audiology services, making it the first solely domiciliary service provider to be awarded UKAS accreditation for IQIPS.

In May 2018 Lord Lindsay, UKAS Chairman, announced the appointment of Matt Gantley as the new UKAS Chief Executive. Matt will succeed Paul Stennett MBE and commence his duties at UKAS from 1st September 2018.

ISO/CASCO is seeking feedback from testing and calibration laboratories on the 2017 version of ISO/IEC 17025. This will help prepare their first analysis of the feedback one year post publication of the revised standard.
