16 October 2021 (Saturday) - Blister Cells

One of our consultants has taken to emailing out a “film of the week”. Whilst I’m incredibly grateful for this, it is all very well giving a question, but without the correct answer there are as many answers as there are people to give them – just look at any of the haematology-related Facebook pages.
But in this case I am quietly confident…

Blood film of a man who's Hb dropped from 97 to 68.
What did he have for dinner ?

Fava beans or something else equally oxidising!! – those are blister cells seen in cases of G6PD deficiencies.
There’s a link to more information here.
