Little bit
of politics…. Or is it? For as long as I can remember I have been subject to management
shake-ups and hospital mergers and the like. None have ever been done for any
reason which has been tried and tested, or has any evidence for why it might be
a good thing. Every time has been at the political whim of whichever politician
is calling the shots at the time.
Now there
is some evidence
about hospital mergers… OK it is from America where the climate is
different to here in the UK, but the evidence would suggest that mergers don’t necessarily
improve anything.
I wonder
if there is anything along these lines based on the UK experience…
