11 October 2019 (Friday) - ASH Newsletter

The American Society of Hematology sent their newsletter today. Much of it wasn’t really relevant to me, but I was intrigued by one article. The FDA have issued guidelines on the use of artificial intelligences in healthcare. The article quoted the director of the FDA’s division of digital health as saying “We want manufacturers of these technologies to make products in a way that will actually be useful, and at the same time it’s not going to create a situation where people are getting hurt”,
I wonder just what impact artificial intelligence will have in healthcare? My job has been automated and robotised beyond anything I might have imagined when I first started all those years ago…
