The
nice people at the Transfusion Evidence Library sent their update today. *Loads* of articles; too many to take in.
But a couple of articles caught my eye.
Another
article frowning
on giving older blood to patients; specifically those having suffered neurological
trauma.
It
was suggested that giving iron
peri-operatively reduces the need for transfusions.
Administration
of tranexamic acid – there’s something I need to find out more about…
