30 November 2017 (Thursday) - Case Study

I found this case study on a Facebook group I follow:

A 32-year-old male patient is being evaluated for a lung mass seen on a CT scan for chest pain. He is otherwise healthy and his physical exam is normal. Complete blood count shows leukocyte count 7900/cmm. hemoglobin 10.2 g/dl. and indices Hct-30.4,MCV-54.4,Mch- 18.2,Mchc-33.6. platelet count 289.000/cmm.

The case is presented here – with several comments.

For myself – I’d like to know the patient’s ethnic origin. I’m thinking thalassaemia intermedia
