I got to
see the results of the most recent parasitology NEQAS today:
1702 PA1
I immediately
thought of babesiosis as I saw one iffy looking parasite-thingy...
But I
plumped for “No parasites seen”
There
were no parasites
1702 PA2
Definitely
malaria but what was it..
Possibly P vivax.... ??? mixed infestation with P
falciparum as some cells had what looked like double P falciparum
parasites.
Parasitaemia
about 5%
Was
actually P knowlesi
Oh well –
I spotted parasites. And that’s what counts.
